I have included the time comparisons and my speed ratings for the 2 maiden races run on the opening night at Meydan last Friday. The season is at such an early stage that it would be very difficult to draw any firm conclusions, but I did think it was worth highlighting the performance of El Nasseeb who won the opening 6-furlong contest. Although he was sent off with an International SP of 25/1, he has hammered this field and run a very fast time figure in the process. The track was riding on the quick side, which is not unusual at this time of the year, but having travelled prominently, he has readily kicked clear as they reached the 2-furlong pole and this was an exceptional debut performance (see video link below for a closer look).
