Fillies Debutantes Race over 1,600m.

Field carried right out of the stalls by Menakoz who dived to her right in the first few strides. She recovered and led the field into the turn and was 2-lengths up with 300m to run. Briefly looked like she would slip the field, but she has an unusual action where her front legs splay as she runs. She has finished a tired 2nd, 0.73s slower than the winner over the final furlong. However, she has readily seen off Cappadocia (5th) who pestered her for the early lead.

Shiribetsu (Graffard) has raced in mid-division, coming with a late run to get her head in front with 50-yards to run. Supplemented for the race, Tongue-tie on for debut. She looked ready to run and duly obliged. €200k yearling at Arqana.

Pearly Queen (3rd) has made steady late progress to finish 3rd, without having the pace to match the winner.

PRIX PAS DE DEUX

Colts and Geldings Debutantes Race over 1,600m.

Uhtred is already gelded. A Persian King 3YO for Decouz and Griezmann, took time to hit top stride when asked for his effort in the straight, but has lengthened his stride in the closing stages, running 11.82s for the final furlong. Shapes like a horse who has got away with this mile trip and would imagine he will quickly go up to 2,000m. Got the better of Eliman (Graffard) who has done little wrong on debut but just lacked the pace to match the winner in the closing stages. Supplemented for this race, he is a Siyouni Colt, his dam was rated 42.5, a half-sister to Ervedya.

Bodicus (4th) another to note having been ridden around the turn. Stayed on well for Demuro and Fabre, finishing in 35.75s (Ranked 2nd). Lope de Vega, full-brother to Iberian, clearly better next time with 2,000m.
